"I express my highest appreciation to the Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. As we heard, Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are known as being orderly, disciplined, and obedient to the rules," Ministry's Director General of Hajj and Umrah, Hilman Latief, noted in a statement in Jakarta, Monday.
Until Sunday, the return of the second wave of Hajj pilgrims continued. A total of 285 groups with more than 100 thousand people have returned to Indonesia.
"Hopefully, the return process of Hajj pilgrims will run smoothly and the pilgrims, who are still living in the Holy Land, especially from Mecca and Medina, can arrange the time so that they can immediately return to the country," he remarked.
Based on the Integrated Hajj Information and Computerization System (Siskohat) of the Ministry, as of Sunday, 394 Hajj pilgrims died comprising 376 regular Hajj pilgrims and 18 special Hajj pilgrims.
Of this figure, the most died in Mecca, reaching 313, followed by 37 in Medina, 32 in Mina, and six each in Arafah and Jeddah.
Most of them are aged 71 years and above, with the figure reaching 173 people. Meanwhile, 133 of them were in the age range of 61-70 years, 70 people in the age bracket of 51-60 years, and 18 people up to 50 years of age.
