Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas lauded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the seamless implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage.

"I would like to thank King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their strong leadership as the supreme heads of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia so that the Hajj pilgrimage can run smoothly," he noted in a statement on Tuesday.

Qoumas also expressed gratitude for the Hajj services to Indonesian pilgrims and commended the Nusuk Card, which distinguishes legal pilgrims from others.

"In Arafat, Muzdalifah, and Mina, everything ran smoothly because only legal Hajj pilgrims could carry out their pilgrimage properly," he remarked.

The Makkah Route Initiative, providing fast-track facilities for immigration inspection, received his praise.

These facilities are now available not only at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport but also at Adi Soemarmo International Airport and Juanda International Airport.

With the facilities, upon arrival at Medina or Jeddah Airport, pilgrims can straightaway board the bus to go to the hotel.

Qoumas highlighted the cooperation in health services, security, and information exchange between the two nations, emphasizing the continued success of the Hajj pilgrimage in the future.
