Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said that the Cimanggis-Cibitung Toll Road in West Java will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of economic activities in the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area.

"This toll road will boost the efficiency and effectiveness of economic activities in this area, which, in turn, will positively affect the national economy," he stated during the inauguration of the toll road in Bogor, West Java, on Tuesday.

He expressed hope that the interconnection of the Cimanggis-Cibitung Toll Road and other toll road networks in Jabodetabek would result in greater interregional connectivity between Jakarta and its surroundings.

The 26.18-kilometer toll road is part of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) 2. It was built with an investment of Rp10.6 trillion (around US$652 million).

"Hopefully, this toll road will lead to a higher level of interregional connectivity and accessibility that will support our national development goals," he said.

Section 1 of the toll road connects Cimanggis and Jatikarya, Section 2A Jatikarya and Cikeas, and Section 2B Cikeas and Cibitung.

Section 1 and Section 2A were made operational in 2020 and 2023, respectively, while Section 2B was opened on Tuesday, marking the completion of the development of the Cimanggis-Cibitung Toll Road as well as JORR 2 as a whole.
