He accentuated the need to make efforts to achieve the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision through economic transformation, with increasing productivity and improving competitiveness as the keys to success.
“I believe the national automotive industry can play a big role in supporting this effort, considering the great potential that we have,” he remarked at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2024 here on Thursday.
Moreover, Amin affirmed that the automotive industry is required to be more adaptive to increasing public awareness of the environment by developing environment-friendly automotive technology, such as electric vehicles.
“These are important to strengthen the capacity and added value of the national automotive industry so that it can compete with products from other countries,” he remarked.
Furthermore, the vice president stated that the global automotive industry recovered after being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Even amid global uncertainty, the industry is able to grow by almost 10 percent in 2023.

He called for tapping into it as an opportunity to propel Indonesia into the top 10 of the world’s automotive producers.
At the domestic level, he stated that the transportation equipment industry contributes to the national economy, with a growth rate of more than seven percent and export performance growth of almost six percent in 2023.
Furthermore, the automotive industry is one of the driving forces for national industrial growth, considering the large amount of investment and employment of approximately 1.5 million people in the industry’s supply chain.
To this end, he emphasized the need to continue increasing the capacity of the national automotive industry so that it can meet not only domestic but also global demand.
“I hope this event can help boost the national automotive industry’s independence and strengthen Indonesia’s position on the global stage,” he remarked.
