Semarang, C Java (ANTARA) - Chairperson of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Kaesang Pangarep, has not yet decided whether he will contest this year's regional head election (Pilkada) from Central Java or Jakarta.

"My (electability) survey in Jakarta by Kompas R&D is one percent. However, I hope I can rank first in Central Java, without advertisements or pictures on billboards," he said while launching the PSI Regional Leadership Council Office here on Saturday.

Kaesang, President Joko Widodo's youngest son, asked the media to wait until August, or the candidate registration period for the 2024 Pilkada, for his decision on whether he will run from Central Java or Jakarta.

"My chance of winning in Central Java is very big," he said.

Responding to the possibility of his pairing up with chief of the Central Java Police, Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, for the regional head elections, he said that Luthfi deserves to be the governor of Central Java.

"Central Java is a very big province, and Mr. Ahmad Luthfi has done a lot here," he added.

He then again asked the media to wait until August for his final decision on the region he will contest from and his running mate.
