Jayapura (ANTARA) - The Papua provincial government distributed five thousand liters of kerosene at the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) event in Jayapura, Papua, on Friday.

Head of the province's trade and industrial office, Herman Bleskadit, stated here on Friday that the free kerosene is part of the Indonesian Independence Day commemoration.

"The distribution of free kerosene is expected to help people to fulfill their needs," he remarked.

Meanwhile, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Papua and Maluku's Area Manager for Communication, Relation, & Corporate Social Responsibility, Edi Mangun, stated that the distribution of free kerosene is part of Pertamina's participation in celebrating the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

Moreover, Mangun stated that it is part of the synergy between the government and Pertamina.

"In addition to kerosene, we also offered gas stoves and gas cylinders. Every purchase of five-or-12-kg Bright Gas cylinders is free of one stove," Mangun stated.

The 5kg Bright Gas cylinder is priced at Rp400 thousand, while a 12kg Bright Gas cylinder costs Rp615 thousand.
