We are in the process of preparing (for) the moving of these embassies.Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN) is preparing land for embassies of foreign countries at IKN, East Kalimantan.
"We are in the process of preparing (for) the moving of these embassies. The land has been prepared. Later, we will see which embassies show interest in moving to IKN," OIKN's policy analyst expert, Jacky Habibie, informed at an online seminar on Tuesday.
He then conveyed OIKN's readiness to support non-governmental organizations—political, religious, social, economic, and others—who are interested in moving to IKN.
"Organizations outside the government are not required to move to IKN. However, if they are interested, we can ensure the readiness," Habibie said.
Earlier, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said that IKN Nusantara will be one of the best capital cities in the world.
The Garuda Palace at IKN is also magnificent with a unique land contour. The IKN will become the future for younger generations, he added.
According to Amin, the development of IKN is a symbol of the nation's determination to weave diversity.
Meanwhile, the representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) for Indonesia and Timor Leste, Marco Kamiya, said that IKN Nusantara has the potential to become the first integrated forest-garden city.
Although cities like Singapore and Amsterdam have combined parks with buildings, no city has succeeded in integrating an entire forest into the urban environment like IKN, he expounded.
This is an opportunity for Indonesia to set new standards for future development.
For the first time, Indonesia's future capital will host a ceremony on the country's Independence Day on August 17. President Joko Widodo is scheduled to preside over the event.
A similar ceremony, planned to be led by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, will take place in Jakarta on the same day.
