PUPR Minister's expert staff for technology, industry, and environment, Endra S. Atmawidjaja, said here on Wednesday that the officers who will be accommodated in the towers will include the Flag-Raising Troop.
According to him, the ministry has readied several basic facilities in the towers that can be used by the ceremony officers.
The basic facilities include a 98-square-meter housing unit comprising three bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a place to dry clothes.
Atmawidjaja expressed the hope that with the use of civil servants' housing towers to support the August 17 ceremony at the new capital, the community, especially civil servants who will move there, can be more confident about the facilities and reliability of the housing.
This year, Indonesia will hold the Independence Day anniversary ceremony at two locations, namely Nusantara and Jakarta. The ceremony in Nusantara will be led by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), while Vice President Ma'ruf Amin will lead the one in Jakarta.
Earlier, the Ministry of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform said that it was preparing 47 housing towers for civil servants who will be transferred to Nusantara in October.
"By October, 47 towers, 12 of which are dedicated to military and police officers, will have completed construction," State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas said in Nusantara, East Kalimantan, on Monday.
He added that the housing towers will be allotted to around 1,700 married civil servants who will move to the capital with their families in October.
