Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan was seen wearing traditional East Kalimantan clothing. In his brief statement, the minister shared his views on how the new capital city has marked a new era for Indonesia.
"I think we have exited the colonial era because most of our government buildings in Jakarta were (built) in the colonial era. However, now, the planning, development, and funding is from the Indonesian government," he stated.
Pandjaitan also invited all generations to unite, let go of differences, and realize the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision together.
He emphasized that the future of Indonesia lies in the hands of the next generation's members, who are considered to be enthusiastic and collaborative.
"The achievement of Golden Indonesia 2045 is very possible as we have elected a president who has the same vision as President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)," he remarked.
President-elect Prabowo Subianto expressed his commitment to continuing the Nusantara capital city development, he noted.
Meanwhile, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati looked elegant in traditional Sundanese clothing. She believes this occasion was way more than just a celebration but rather a meaningful experience.
"This is a new experience that we had the opportunity to conduct the flag ceremony in the new capital city. Of course, we feel touched and excited," she remarked.
Meanwhile, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning and Head of the National Land Agency, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and his wife Annisa Pohan wore the traditional outfit of Central Kalimantan.
"I feel happy, honoured, and proud because this is the first time in history that we commemorate Independence Day in the new capital city Nusantara," Yudhoyono stated.
