Jakarta (ANTARA) - First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, Second Lady Wury Ma'ruf Amin, and members of the Onward Indonesia Cabinet Era Solidarity Action Organization (OASE KIM) inspected child immunizations at an integrated health post (posyandu) in Makassar on Friday.

In a statement received here, the Presidential Secretariat informed that Iriana arrived at Posyandu Asoka VII A around 8 a. m. local time. The visit was part of her official agenda in South Sulawesi province.

OASE KIM vice chairperson Ida Gunadi Sadikin said that August has been designated as the month of provision of Vitamin A to children and the government is continuing to implement polio vaccinations across Indonesia.

She further noted that Posyandu Asoka VII A has been declared a life cycle posyandu, meaning it can cater to the needs of people from all stages of life, including pregnant women, toddlers, adolescents, and senior residents.

On the occasion, First Lady Iriana, Second Lady Wury, and OASE KIM members held a direct conversation with locals seeking to get their children vaccinated.

Asmira, one of the residents, commended the government for rolling out the vaccination program.

"This activity truly helps children grow healthily. The Indonesian nation will leap further by producing smart children," she said.

She then expressed the hope that the vaccination program would reach every single child in need in the country.

"I hope that all children in Indonesia will receive a polio vaccine, so that they can grow healthily," she said.
