"We must continue to innovate, adapt, collaborate to develop creation. Incubation is the best assistance," he said at the Phase 2 incubation ahead of the 2025 Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Uno noted that the fashion sector is the biggest contributor to exports in Indonesia's creative economy. Of the total revenue of US$28 billion, 60 percent was contributed by the fashion industry.
Training and incubation are expected to help produce human resources of higher quality.
The minister affirmed that his ministry is also supporting financing access for creative economy players to support fashion businesses.
In addition, the ministry is helping creative economy players register their works' intellectual property rights.
This is to allow Indonesia's quality fashion products to be featured at exhibitions abroad without any fear that the products will be duplicated.
Intellectual property rights in fashion are considered crucial for the products to enter the international market so that designers can be confident that their works are protected.
Furthermore, intellectual property rights for fashion products can also be a guarantee when creative economy players make purchases, as regulated in Government Regulation Number 24 of 2022.
Minister Uno said that Indonesia has vast potential in the modest fashion industry, thus, collaboration with the private sector, communities, and the government can be developed to generate maximum results.
"With the collaboration, hopefully, our impact on micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) players can increase to create business opportunities and jobs," he added.
