During the defile, the Indonesian team showed up in attractive uniforms designed by IKAT Indonesia in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the NPC.
"The defile uniform is specially designed by combining modern elements but still rich in the Nusantara cultural philosophy," the NPC said in a statement Thursday.
Their outfits featured a motif of Balinese ikat textile and Yogyakarta's lis lurik details.
The belts worn by the athletes were designed to be sturdy to support agility and movement.
Other Indonesian traditional clothing was also on display during the defile at the Place de la Concorde. The Indonesian contingent walked with the Red and White flag carried by table tennis athlete Leli Marlina and bicycle racer Muhammad Fadli Imammuddin.
A total of 30 representatives, including 11 athletes, 13 officials, and six members of the Chef de Mission (CdM), joined the 2024 Paralympics opening ceremony.
Indonesian weightlifter Ni Nengah Widiasih expressed pride in attending the opening ceremony.
She said that she was elated when athletes from other countries flocked to ask Indonesian athletes to pose for pictures together.
