The Indonesian presidential aircraft carrying Widodo and his entourage took off from Aji Pangeran Tumenggung International Airport in Samarinda City, East Kalimantan, at around 8 a.m. local time.
The president earlier attended the opening of the 30th Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) in Samarinda on Sunday evening (Sept 8).
Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana noted in a written statement received here that after arriving at Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport, Aceh Besar District, the president is scheduled to head to the Baitussalam Toll Gate to inaugurate several sections of the Sigli-Banda Aceh toll road.
"Next, the president and his entourage will head to the H. Dimurthala Stadium in Banda Aceh City to inaugurate the rehabilitation, renovation, and construction of the XXI National Sports Week (PON) venue in Aceh Province," Permana revealed.
"After the inauguration, the president and First Lady Iriana will head to the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of dr. Zainoel Abidin in Banda Aceh City to review the facilities and health services at the hospital," he further stated.
In the evening, the president and first lady are scheduled to attend the inauguration of the opening of PON XXI in 2024, which will be held at the Harapan Bangsa Stadium, Banda Aceh City.
The president and his entourage will thereafter depart for North Sumatra Province to continue their working visit.
Commander of the presidential security forces, Major General Achiruddin, and the acting military secretary to the president, Brigadier General Heri Purwanto, also accompanied President Jokowi and the first lady during the visit.
