He was deported through Soekarno Hatta International Airport on Friday, June 13, 2025, and banned from entering Indonesia, the immigration office head, Bugie Kurniawan, told journalists here, Friday.
FSA was arrested by police in Badung District, Bali Province, on August 12, 2021, for consuming 0.85 grams of crystal methamphetamine. He was subsequently tried in a district court on the Indonesian resort island.
Despite being tried in absentia—after failing to appear in court for his second summons—the panel of judges found him guilty of drug consumption, Kurniawan said.
FSA was then jailed in Bali before being transferred to a correctional center in South Jakarta. During his jail term, he appealed to the higher court to have the lower court's decision reviewed, he stated.
Due to his good behavior during his stay at the correctional center, FSA was granted parole, after which the immigration office prepared for his deportation, he remarked.
As his passport and stay permit had expired, the Yemeni embassy in Jakarta issued a travel document in lieu of a passport for his return to Yemen, Kurniawan added.
