Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin emphasized the importance of optimizing Extreme Poverty Elimination Acceleration (P3KE) data to strengthen poverty alleviation programs.

"Poverty elimination programs at all government levels should be inclusive, collaborative, and focused. To expand the scope of these programs, the continued use of P3KE data is crucial," Vice President Amin remarked at the Vice President's Secretariat Auditorium on Wednesday.

Amin made this statement during a coordination meeting on extreme poverty elimination acceleration and the distribution of incentive funds for addressing extreme poverty.

He explained that over 26 ministries and agencies have utilized P3KE data. Additionally, more than 93 percent of local governments have employed the database to implement their programs.

"In the future, a national and integrated targeting system needs to be developed so that various data in ministries and agencies can be connected," Amin stated.

In addition, VP Amin emphasized other important aspects, such as convergence and synergy, in speeding up efforts to eliminate extreme poverty.

He explained that convergence and synergy are needed to ensure that extremely poor families benefit from all existing programs, such as social protection, economic empowerment, and settlement infrastructure improvement programs.

"We also need to ensure the program implementation effectiveness, in terms of the accuracy of the beneficiaries, the amount, and the timing of distribution by prioritizing vulnerable groups," VP Amin remarked.

Vulnerable groups include the elderly, people with disabilities, migrant workers, and female household heads, he pointed out.

Furthermore, he underscored the need to ensure regulations are sustainable enough to support poverty reduction and extreme poverty elimination strategies in the 2025-2029 period.

Meanwhile, the government has set a target to reduce the extreme poverty rate to zero percent in 2024.
