Serang, Banten (ANTARA) - The Banten provincial government received a fiscal incentive of Rp6.281 billion, or around US$406 thousand, from the central government to accelerate the extreme poverty elimination program.

Acting Governor of Banten, Al Muktabar, stated that the Banten provincial government had received three fiscal incentives for handling extreme poverty, tackling stunting, and improving financial management.

"Some of (the incentives) we use to directly benefit the community, especially in strengthening the food supplies," he remarked here on Thursday.

He noted that the extreme poverty rate in Banten Province is close to zero. He ensured that the fiscal incentive handed over by the central government would be used in extreme poverty eradication programs.

"Hopefully, this can mirror all of our efforts for the community's welfare," he stated.

According to the acting governor, every effort to reduce the extreme poverty rate to zero has been carried out along with district heads and mayors in the province.
