The Ministry of Communication and Informatics stated its commitment to fully supporting the 17th National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) by setting up a well-equipped media center.
Bambang Tri Anggono, the ministry's director of information and communication for human development and culture, revealed that the media center will be located at the Royal Surakarta Heritage Hotel, Solo, Central Java.
"The provision of excellent facilities is essential to enable journalists to carry out their duties optimally. There will be daily press conferences there (at the media center)," he said, according to a statement released by the ministry in Jakarta on Wednesday.
In addition to a working space and a press conference room, the media center will have entertainment services, such as games and live music, as well as masseurs and massage chairs, he informed.
"We will also cooperate with the Peparnas XVII committee to issue press releases, photos, and videos," he added.

Anggono further said that his side has taken notes from the experiences gained during the recently concluded Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON), which drew foreign media outlets' attention, in preparing and operating the Peparnas media center.
"We hope that the 17th Peparnas will be a successful event whose information is not only received by Indonesians, but also international audiences. It should be noted that some foreign media outlets participated in the coverage of the recent PON," he pointed out.
Earlier on Monday, Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, affirmed that Solo is all set to hold this year's Peparnas following its success in hosting the 11th ASEAN Para Games (APG) in 2022.
"Solo just hosted the APG a couple of years ago. Thus, the venues are still in an excellent and well-maintained condition. This is because Solo is the center for the development of para sports," he said after a Peparnas coordination meeting in the city.
The Central Java Peparnas will feature 20 sports competitions at a total of 22 venues located in Solo city, Boyolali district, Karanganyar district, and Sukoharjo district. It will take place from October 6–13, 2024.
