Jakarta (ANTARA) - State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas has said that the transfer of civil servants to Indonesia's new capital city Nusantara is awaiting the decision of the next government led by President-elect Prabowo Subianto.

He noted that based on the new direction, the government still needs to complete the new capital ecosystem in East Kalimantan.

"Currently, there are 500 units of apartments that are ready to be used. However, the roads are still dusty; the digital system also still needs to be completed," he said here on Wednesday.

Anas affirmed that the Ministry of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform has prepared plans A, B, and C, but they are all pending direction from the new president.

Meanwhile, preparations continue to be improved, including for office facilities and others, which, according to him, are currently progressing encouragingly.

However, regarding the time for the transfer, the minister emphasized that everything depends on the next government.

This is because currently, Indonesia is still making the transition from the government of President Joko Widodo to President-elect Prabowo.

"What is certain is that we have prepared several scenarios," he said.

The civil servants who will work in Nusantara will consist of civil servants from ministries and agencies, Nusantara's 2024 civil servant candidates, including those from East Kalimantan, as well as civil servants transferred from the East Kalimantan provincial government.

The government's policy regarding the relocation of the capital city is currently focusing on the short-term, namely the first phase, which involves the relocation of institutions and transfer of civil servants as well as the effectiveness of governance in Nusantara through digital working patterns.
