Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) stated that the Regional Research and Innovation Agency's (BRIDA's) local job for local voice movement in Kolaka can serve as an example for other regions.

The movement carried out in Kolaka District, Southeast Sulawesi, aims to facilitate vocational graduates directly working in companies.

"The Kolaka BRIDA partnered with the polytechnic in Ujung Pandang for this movement to prepare workers to be able to work directly in companies in Kolaka," BRIN's Director of Regional Research and Innovation Policy, Siti Nuryanti, stated in a talk show on Monday (October 7).

Nuryanti lauded this vocational partnership ecosystem program to encourage the emergence of a regional research and innovation ecosystem, identification of regional potential, and policy recommendations to solve regional problems.

She highlighted that each region has different local potential so research is needed to optimize the potential.

"Kolaka is dominated by mining companies. Therefore, the Ujung Pandang Polytechnic prepares skilled workers to work in these companies," she remarked.

Nuryanti said that the ecosystem partnership program (Ekosmira), which connects stakeholders with the business world and industry, plays an important role in identifying the potential of each region.

"Ekosmira connects regions with the industry by inviting multi-stakeholders to support identifying the potential of each region, to be issued in the Master Plan and Roadmap for the Advancement of Science and Technology in the Region (RIPJ PID)," she revealed.

From the diverse regional potential, BRIN continues to synchronize policies at the center and regions and collaborate with multi-stakeholders to enter the business and industrial world, she noted.

Meanwhile, Director of Partnership and Alignment of the Business and the Industrial Sector of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Adi Nuryanto, remarked that the ecosystem partnership program in collaboration with the Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP) will continue with the implementation of the second and third stages, with additional funds of Rp35 billion (US$2.1 million).

"The funds would strengthen innovation in the regions, self-reliance programs, and strengthening policy papers, as an opportunity for the industry to increase national competitiveness, with innovations proposed based on strategic plans in the regions," Nuryanto revealed.
