"After the inauguration of the president-elect, there will be two figures who will fight for you (the judges). First is the MA chief justice, who has conveyed the judges' condition," Ahmad stated at the parliament complex here on Tuesday.
The deputy speaker noted that the second figure is Chairman of the Judicial Commission (KY) Amzulian Rifai.
He explained that the KY chairman has so far submitted the calculations regarding the current salaries and bonuses for judges.
Ahmad stated that data or facts conveyed by the MA chief justice and KY chairman will serve as the basis for the president-elect team to manage the budget to fulfill judges' welfare.
"It becomes the basis for President-elect Prabowo Subianto's economic team to make budget re-allocations in 2025 to meet some of the judges' needs," he explained.
The DPR had earlier agreed to regulate facilities for judges through the Role of Judges Bill (RUU Jabatan Hakim) after holding an audience with judges who are members of the Indonesian Judges Solidarity (SHI) at the parliament complex on Tuesday.
"Everything is in the bill, whether it is about the contempt of court, security guarantee, health insurance, housing facilities for judges, and so on," DPR Deputy Speaker, Adies Kadir, stated in the hearing.
Some of the judges' demands at the hearing included the call for accelerating the revision of Government Regulation Number 94 of 2012 concerning the Financial Rights and Facilities of Judges under the Supreme Court.
The judges also proposed an increase in basic salary and a functional work bonus of up to 142 percent.
