Jakarta (ANTARA) - Synergy between data center ecosystems in Indonesia could accelerate the nation's digital transformation, according to Minister of Communication and Informatics Budi Arie Setiadi.

He stated that data center ecosystems, owned by both the government and private sector, must work in harmony to serve as platforms for the development of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence.

"This must be accompanied by stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors to create a conducive environment for technological advancement," he said during the grand opening of the Digital Data Centers Shared Building in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He added that the inauguration of the building could stimulate the growth of national industries, enhance the competitiveness of Indonesia's digital sector, and accelerate digital transformation.

"Hopefully, this will also encourage all data center industries to become more competitive, developed, and provide better services to the community," he remarked.

Setiadi expressed optimism that, with the acceleration of digital transformation, Indonesia's digital sector will experience rapid growth over the next decade, surpassing other sectors.

To support the growth of a healthy digital industry ecosystem, his ministry is working to create policies that ensure level playing fields.

"As other industries slow down, the digital industry is expanding because its value can significantly increase with the right investments. This policy will ensure equal opportunities for all parties to participate in the sector's development," he explained.
