Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Military (TNI) has formed 10 task forces for VVIP security for the inauguration of President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

After leading a briefing for the presidential inauguration security here on Friday, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto stated that the task forces are deployed to several rings.

As for Ring 1, the task forces will be assigned to secure VVIPs, such as the president, vice president, and state guests, while for Ring 2, the officers will be deployed at the event's venue.

Furthermore, Ring 3 covers areas outside and around the inauguration venue.

The 10 task forces are Jakarta Area Security Task Force, Special Forces Task Force, VVIP Security Task Force, Information Task Force, Medical Task Force, Intelligence Task Force, Marine Task Force, Air Task Force, Communication and Electronics Task Force, and Cyber Task Force.

Those task forces are controlled by the VVIP Joint Integrated Security Command led by Vice Admiral Rachmad Jayadi.

The VVIP security operations for the presidential and vice presidential inauguration will last a week on October 17-23, 2024. The series of operations include preparation, tactical simulations, briefings, rehearsals, and security operations.

The TNI commander remarked that 100 thousand TNI officers are deployed for the entire security operations, including more than 24 thousand personnel who are members of the VVIP Joint Integrated Security Command.

Prabowo and Gibran will be inaugurated as president and vice president of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 period at the Nusantara Building, Senayan Parliamentary Complex, Jakarta, on October 20, 2024.

Subiyanto noted that 36 heads of state and government would attend Sunday's event.

"This is not just an ordinary state event but a symbol of the continuation of democracy and the sovereignty of the Indonesian nation," he remarked.
