Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received a visit from Chinese Vice President Han Zheng at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Saturday night.
VP Han was welcomed by Widodo and State Secretariat Minister Pratikno as soon as he arrived at the palace at 7:02 p.m. local time.
Next, Han signed the guestbook in the company of the seventh Indonesian head of state.
Thereafter, Widodo and Han held a dialogue in the Jepara Room of the Merdeka Palace.
The Chinese Vice President is scheduled to attend the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Parliamentary Complex, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (October 20, 2024) morning.

A number of state dignitaries representing Indonesia's partner countries have arrived in the country for the presidential inauguration. Former German president Christian Wulff was the first to arrive on Friday.
On Saturday, more state guests landed at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang, Banten, and Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta.
They included Vanuatu Prime Minister Charlot Tabimasmas, Brunei Darussalam Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Denis Manturov, Laos VP Pany Yathotou, Vietnamese VP Vo Thi Anh Xuan, and Qatar Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah.
