Head of the Presidential Communication Office, Hasan Nasbi, confirmed Sugiono’s participation, explaining his absence on the first day of the Cabinet's team-building agenda.
“Having arrived here last night, he has been engaged in the agenda since this morning,” Nasbi said.
Nasbi added that Sugiono joined other ministers, deputy ministers, agency leaders, and special staff for a briefing on Indonesia’s downstreaming policy.
“We are currently attending a classroom session for the presentation of materials,” he noted.
President Prabowo Subianto, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, ministers, agency heads, advisors, special envoys, and special staff arrived at the Military Academy on October 24.
Prabowo officially opened the retreat the following morning, with corruption prevention emphasized in the first day’s briefings. The event will conclude on October 27.
Sugiono’s attendance at the BRICS Plus Summit 2024 in Russia from October 22–24 was his inaugural mission on behalf of President Prabowo.
During the summit, he conveyed Indonesia’s interest in achieving full BRICS membership, emphasizing that Indonesia’s inclusion would support government initiatives and strengthen its advocacy for the interests of developing nations.
