Jakarta (ANTARA) - Several former leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) met with the current KPK leadership to compile inputs on corruption eradication, which will be submitted to President Prabowo Subianto. "This is about strengthening input and how to enhance the KPK in the future," Basaria Panjaitan, deputy chairperson of the KPK from 2015 to 2019, said at the KPK's Red and White Building in Jakarta on Monday.

She noted that President Prabowo is very concerned about corruption eradication, as evidenced by his numerous statements since taking office.

"If we follow our current president, he seems very concerned about corruption. Since his inauguration, he has talked about eradicating corruption almost every day," she noted.

On the same occasion, Thony Saut Situmorang, deputy KPK chair from 2015 to 2019, expressed optimism that President Prabowo will bring positive changes to efforts to strengthen corruption eradication in Indonesia.

"Yes, we are still very optimistic. As I said earlier, there must be a different strategy, structure, skill, and style. The style must be different," he added.

Saut said that given his military background, Prabowo will bring a different character to corruption eradication.

According to him, this will allow Prabowo to move faster and more efficiently in implementing a more effective and efficient corruption eradication strategy.

"Some people say give 100 days, but it's up to you to use whatever theory. If the Harvard theory is 100 days, the military theory doesn't need to be long. The strategy can be changed today," he said.
