"The key to education's quality improvement is teachers," she highlighted when contacted by ANTARA here on Friday.
She underscored the need to bolster teachers' education through methods, including gradual and continuous training.
In addition, efforts to improve the quality of education in Indonesia can be carried out through schools. In this case, it is deemed essential for schools to create a conducive environment to encourage and inspire teachers to carry out their duties well.
"Creating a conducive school environment for students to learn and make teachers feel at home while carrying out their duties is necessary," she remarked.
In creating a conducive educational environment, Fizzanty underscored the need for all stakeholders to be involved, such as principals, teachers, parents, the community, local governments, the private sector, and other stakeholders.
To this end, she expressed hope that the central government and relevant stakeholders could create generic policies.
She explained that this is aimed at encouraging regional governments and schools to adapt to the needs, problems, and potential that they have.
"Critical research in the field of education is also highly needed to provide input to education policies in Indonesia," she remarked.
To support quality improvement among teachers, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology in the 2019-2024 term has created the Merdeka Mengajar (Independent Teaching) platform.
The platform helps teachers access information and references as well as draw inspiration. It also enables teachers to engage in self-training and connect with others in the same profession in the country.
