Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) is encouraging the House of Representatives (DPR) to prioritize the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill (RUU KKS) in the national legislative program (Prolegnas).

During a meeting with lawmakers at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Thursday, BSSN Head Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Hinsa Siburian stated that the RUU KKS is one of the agency's initiatives to support the government's Asta Cita vision.

Siburian explained that Asta Cita (Eight Visions) aims to strengthen the country’s defense and security systems and promote national self-sufficiency in areas such as food, energy, water, the creative economy, the green economy, and the blue economy.

He noted that the BSSN will undertake various initiatives to support this vision.

"The BSSN will certify cybersecurity equipment used in critical infrastructure," Siburian remarked.

The agency will also enhance information control processes, forwarding information to authorized ministries and institutions to filter content, enforce laws, and neutralize harmful information.

"The BSSN will carry out cybersecurity-strengthening activities for ministries and institutions involved in digital farming, including the Ministry of Agriculture," he added.

Siburian stated that the agency will also play an active role in promoting global peace through participation in bilateral and multilateral forums on cybersecurity and cyber norms.
