Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Pertamina Energy Terminal (PET), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), supports national economic growth by committing to implementing Domestic Component Level (TKDN) rules in energy terminal management.

PET implements strict rules in the procurement of goods and services, especially in the implementation of TKDN, as stipulated by the Government in Government Regulation Number 29 of 2018 and ratified by the Pertamina Group.

"As part of the group, we have implemented the TKDN rules. TKDN absorption in PET reached 33.06% for 2023, meeting the TKDN target of 30% set by the government," said PET President Director Bayu Prostiyono.

Bayu is optimistic that PET's TKDN absorption commitment will continue to be in accordance with regulations, and PET has appointed a trusted independent institution to measure the ongoing TKDN absorption with objective and accurate results.

The Tuban LPG Terminal (TLPG) Project in East Java, Bayu continued, is one real example of the implementation of TKDN. "The construction of the Tuban TLPG is a form of PET's commitment to supporting the development of the local industry. In the process, the Tuban TLPG requires a TKDN of 33.23%, higher than that set by the Government and Pertamina Group, and its current realization has exceeded the figure required in the contract."

He added that the project also involved local residents for various jobs, thus providing a positive impact on the economy and job creation in Tuban. Around 1,000 local residents are recorded as part of the construction of the Tuban TLPG.

To ensure that the absorption of TKDN is in accordance with regulations, PET always conducts a comprehensive TKDN value analysis on each project. Prospective vendors are required to fill out a form that includes the calculation of TKDN along with a statement of commitment to meet the minimum TKDN value that has been determined. While the project is running, the realization of the TKDN value is also always monitored periodically and audited by an independent party.

"Our commitment to TKDN, we believe will continue to strengthen the position of the PET terminal as part of the national energy distribution chain. The terminal has an important role as a gateway for energy distribution before being distributed to the community," added Bayu.

As part of a national vital object, asset integrity management is also PET's main focus to ensure that all infrastructure and company operations comply with the highest safety and quality standards. This is believed to support national energy security, with qualified strategic infrastructure.

"PET has a primary commitment to continue to support the availability of energy for the people of Indonesia. The presence of PET's strategic infrastructure coupled with the absorption of labor and optimization of TKDN in its development is expected to have a positive impact on the local and national economy. We also provide opportunities and openness to domestic entrepreneurs as prospective partners or vendors to be involved in PET projects, of course by fulfilling all the requirements that have been set," concluded Bayu.
