Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian women's doubles pair Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma and Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi secured a quarterfinal victory in the rubber game match, earning their spot in the semifinals of the BWF Super 300 Korea Masters 2024 tournament.

On Friday, Febriana and Amallia defeated Taiwan's Lin Xiao Min and Wang Yu Qiao in the quarter-final round with a score of 21-16, 17-21, 21-11.

"Today is different from the first and second days because today the pace was much faster," Amallia said, as quoted from a statement from the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI).

The pair acknowledged that the match was quite intense, especially the first two games.

"We played quite well in the first game, but in the second game, we were carried away by the opponent's game pattern. We had a lead, but in the end, we kept being pressured," Amallia remarked.

Meanwhile, Febriana stated that the duo was determined not to make the same mistake.

"We do not want to repeat the same mistake in the third game. We tried not to get carried away by their pattern. They played very quickly, but we slowed down the tempo again. That was the key to victory in the third game," Febriana explained.

The players also emphasized not wanting to lose concentration during the semifinals.

"Alhamdulillah (Thank God), we are happy to make it to the semifinals, but we must not let our guard down. We must focus more on the upcoming match," Amallia affirmed.

With Febriana and Amallia's win, Indonesia now has three representatives in the semifinals of the 2024 Korea Masters, with the other two being Dejan Ferdinansyah and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja in the mixed doubles and Putri Kusuma Wardani in the women's singles.
