Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto's visit to the United States has brought hope for Indonesian citizens there.

Based on a press release received from President Subianto's media team here on Monday, several Indonesian citizens welcomed Prabowo's arrival at the hotel where he spent the night.

Indonesians there expressed their aspirations during Prabowo's visit to the United States and his leadership for the next five years.

Bella, a student pursuing Masters of Strategy, Cyber Security and Intelligence program at Johns Hopkins University, expressed hope that President Prabowo's visit to the US would further strengthen the management of Indonesia's cyber and defense affairs.

"As I am in the field of cybersecurity too, and Mr. Prabowo came from a military and defense background, his focus is now on cybersecurity. With that, I hope Indonesia's cybersecurity will improve," she stated.

She admitted to feeling delighted to meet President Prabowo in the US.

A student of the Masters of Science in Biotechnology at Johns Hopkins University, Muhammad Yusuf Atthariq Azof, was admittedly happy to see Prabowo's safe arrival in the US.

Azof echoed his aspirations of wanting more Indonesians to engage in research.

"I hope that Indonesian research personnel can be more advanced and more people want to continue their education at the research level," he stated.

Indonesian President Subianto landed at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, the United States, on Sunday (November 10) afternoon at 4:10 p.m. local time.

Prabowo's visit to Washington, D.C., is part of his overseas tour agenda. At first, he visited Beijing, China, to meet President Xi Jinping, and now he is in the US to meet President Joe Biden.
