"We have spoken with the Minister of Public Works... and we have scheduled a meeting to talk about the mechanism for implementing school rehabilitation," Mu'ti said on Monday.
He emphasized the need for coordination between the two ministries to ensure the school renovation program is implemented quickly and effectively as a priority.
Since the Ministry of Public Works manages various priority programs, budget restrictions have emerged as a key challenge in preliminary evaluations.
Therefore, Mu'ti said he suggested to Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka that the school renovation program be carried out on a 'double track' basis, with renovation duties shared among ministries based on their capabilities.
"We discussed the double-track feasibility with the Vice President, so the Ministry of Public Works will conduct school renovations, and we will also repair educational facilities and infrastructure, especially damaged physical facilities," Mu'ti remarked.
On November 6, Commission X of the House of Representatives (DPR) encouraged relevant ministries in the education sector to allocate budgets for educational infrastructure development.
