The cancelation of Dua Lipa's concert, which was scheduled to be held on November 9, 2024, must be taken as a lesson and evaluated by all parties.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Following the cancelation of Dua Lipa's concert in Jakarta, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has asked all concert promoters to optimize preparations to ensure the security and safety of concerts.

"Security and safety must be the main priority in every event, including concerts. This is in accordance with international standards," the ministry's deputy for tourism product and event organization, Vinsensius Jemadu, said in a statement issued by the ministry here on Monday.

He added that the cancelation of Dua Lipa's concert, which was scheduled to be held on November 9, 2024, must be taken as a lesson and evaluated by all parties.

He affirmed that the government will coordinate intensively with stakeholders to further investigate the cause of the cancelation and evaluate the security and safety standards in Indonesia's music industry to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.

According to Jemadu, his ministry is committed to providing assistance to event organizers, especially music event organizers, to develop a quality concert ecosystem in the country.

He said that the assistance is aimed at improving the quality of concert organization, facilities, and supporting infrastructure, as well as the readiness of human resources to improve Indonesia's reputation in organizing international-scale concerts.

Earlier on November 8, the promoters of the Dua Lipa concert, PK Entertainment and TEM Presents, announced the cancelation of the concert, which was scheduled to be held at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta.

As per the promoters' statement, the concert, which was a part of the British-Albanian singer's Radical Optimism Tour, was canceled over production issues related to the safety of the stage structure.
