According to a statement received from his media team in Jakarta on Saturday, the president arrived at the palace at 7 p.m. local time in a dark-colored suit and a black peci, which is a type of cap commonly worn by Indonesians.
At the event, the Indonesian head of state was spotted shaking hands and conversing with top officials from other countries, including President of the United States Joe Biden, President of China Xi Jinping, and Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau.
Prabowo had met with Biden and Xi during his visit to Washington, D.C., and Beijing, respectively, earlier this month.
Furthermore, President Prabowo also had an opportunity to join a group photo with leaders of fellow Southeast Asian countries, such as Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, and Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
Earlier, the Indonesian president landed in Peru via the Jorge Chavez International Airport on Wednesday (November 13) to participate in a series of activities of the APEC Peru 2024, including the APEC CEO Summit.
On the next day, he held several bilateral meetings with fellow leaders, including Peruvian President Dina Boluarte and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
Meanwhile, President Prabowo convened similar meetings on Friday with his Vietnamese counterpart Luong, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, and Prime Minister of New Zealand Christopher Luxon.
Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono, Trade Minister Budi Santoso, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Presidential Special Advisor for National Defense Dudung Abdurachman, among others, are accompanying the president in Peru.
