Head of the Natuna District KPU, Kusnaidi, stated on Thursday that the logistics were transported aboard Sabuk Nusantara 36 ship on Thursday, assisted by personnel of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI), National Police (Polri), and other stakeholders.
"These logistics are intended for five polling stations (TPS) on Laut Island," he remarked.
According to Kusnaidi, the distribution began at 08:00 local time from the Natuna KPU warehouse in Bunguran Timur Sub-district.
Logistics were moved from the warehouse to a transport truck headed to the Ranai Port to be loaded onto the Sabuk Nusantara 36 ship.
He added that the logistics will also be escorted to the PPK Laut Island warehouse upon arrival.
"The logistics were escorted by three KPU officers, two Bawaslu (Election Supervisory Body) officers, and two police officers to ensure security during the trip," Kusnaidi remarked.
Earlier, his side had distributed regional election logistics to six PPKs: Midai, Suak Midai, Serasan, East Serasan, Subi, and Laut Island.
He ensured that all logistics earlier sent arrived in a good and safe condition.
"All logistics are stored in the PPK logistic warehouse in each region," Kusnaidi remarked.
Regarding regional election logistics for PPK Laut Island, he estimated the arrival time at the local port to be 20:00 local time.
"Natuna has entered the northern season with high rainfall intensity and high sea waves. Therefore, we decided to use this ship and distribute logistics early, five days before election day on November 27," he remarked.
Indonesians will vote to elect mayors, district heads, and governors of regions on November 27, 2024. The vote tabulation process will be carried out until mid-December.
