He made the statement at a press conference after presiding over a meeting with representatives of the General Election Commission (KPU), National Armed Forces (TNI), National Police (Polri), and relevant ministries.
"The requisite logistics have been readied. We only need to distribute them to local levels, from villages to polling stations," he said in response to a question from ANTARA at his office in Jakarta on Monday.
On the potential for unrest, Gunawan assured that the TNI and Polri have taken anticipatory measures, including deploying officers to vulnerable regions, readying reserve personnel, and devising regional security systems.
"Polri has prepared 180 thousand personnel, while TNI has readied about 169 thousand soldiers," he informed.
The coordinating minister, however, said he was unable to share details on the regions considered vulnerable to conflict.
"In essence, all instruments are ready to support the successful implementation of the simultaneous regional head elections," he emphasized.
KPU chairperson Mochamad Afifuddin, on his part, informed that a total of 836,069 ballot boxes, or 98.9 percent of the overall boxes needed, are packed and ready for delivery to sub-district election organizing committees (PPKs).
He said that 47.92 percent of the boxes have been received by the committees.
"Next, the PPKs will distribute them (the boxes) to committees at the village level. Further, the logistics will be sent to polling stations," he added.
On November 27, 2024, a total of 545 regions will hold simultaneous elections, comprising 37 provinces, 415 districts, and 93 cities. The government has declared the voting day a national holiday.
The process of calculating and recapitulating the votes is scheduled to take place from November 27 to December 16.
