This was conveyed by the minister while attending the Release of the 2024 Family Data Collection Update Results in Jakarta on Friday by the Ministry of Population and Family Planning.
He underlined that precise policies cannot be realized without data. Therefore, the availability of data is key. However, this must be accompanied by good data management to create intervention models correctly and choose the best interventions.
Pratikno also welcomed the family data update released by the Ministry of Population and Family Planning.
According to him, the data would be very helpful for his ministry to build collaboration with ministries under its coordination in efforts to reduce the prevalence of stunting.
He said that since he was inaugurated as minister, data consolidation has become his biggest task. This is because his ministry functions as a coordinating body that directs programs between the ministries under it.
He pointed out that at the central level, there are 22 ministries and agencies that have a budget for stunting handling. Moreover, regions also have a stunting handling budget.
For that reason, he said, the coordination carried out by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture involves high-level complexity.
Therefore, in addition to precise policies, he also emphasized the importance of collaboration between ministries and agencies in handling stunting.
"Compared to the problems, our resources are limited. However, if we can handle it precisely, we believe the resources are not lacking," he said.
