"Indonesia's Digital Vision focuses on addressing digital challenges and orchestrating development in the digital sector through three core pillars: digital economy, digital government, and digital society," she said at a meeting with the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC) here.
During the meeting on Wednesday, Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria emphasized that their shared vision of economic growth and digital transformation is expected to transform Indonesia into a digitally empowered country.
"This comprehensive effort has laid the foundation for a digitally inclusive Indonesia, driving innovation and economic growth while increasing access to essential services," he noted.
Currently, Indonesia and the US are in the process of discussing the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Electronic Commerce and Digital Economy (ACCED).
Patria informed that the coordinating committee will focus on re-examining the implementation schedule, including accelerating the delivery of results under the ASEAN Digital Integration Framework Action Plan (DIFAP) if necessary.
It will particularly focus on the areas of digital trade, digital payments and entrepreneurship, as well as incorporating new priorities emerging from new developments in the digital ecosystem, he added.
The strategic partnership between Indonesia and the US, especially in the digital sector, is crucial to drive inclusive and sustainable economic growth, he added.
With an economic growth target of eight percent, the initiative aims to make Indonesia a competitive global digital power.
"In economic cooperation, we are proud to be the main negotiator for the trade pillar under the digital economy cluster of the Indo-Pacific Framework for Prosperity (IPEF)," he said.

Furthermore, Deputy Minister Patria also mentioned several collaborations between Indonesia and the US in fields such as cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, and artificial intelligence (AI).
He said that AI is a key focus of the collaboration, as reflected in the ASEAN Responsible AI Roadmap Workshop held in Jakarta on June 4 and 5, 2024, in partnership with ASEAN and USAID.
"This initiative emphasizes the importance of ethical and responsible AI development in shaping a future-ready digital economy that is in line with the values and aspirations of our region," he added.
