The VP's remarks were conveyed to executives of the Bishops' Conference of Indonesia (KWI) and the newly inaugurated executive of the Indonesian Catholic Youth organization for the 2024-2027 period here on Tuesday (Dec 17).
"If anyone were hindered while performing the Christmas Mass or celebrations, report it immediately to the police, the military, the local authority, or directly to me through WhatsApp chat or direct call," Raka stated.
He affirmed that President Prabowo Subianto has vowed to ensure this year's Christmas and New Year's celebrations are smooth, safe, and joyous for all while affirming his alignment with the president's stance.
Gibran emphasized that his determination to ensure a safe and smooth Christmas and New Year period remains unchanged since his tenure as mayor in Surakarta from 2021 to 2024.
"My commitment (to ensuring a smooth Christmas) is unchanged. It is the same as during my mayorship. Challenges I faced during my three-year tenure in Surakarta were enormous," he stated.

He recalled that despite the challenges, the local authority successfully carried out Christmas celebration activities and installed Christmas trees and ornaments in public spaces.
Meanwhile, the VP highlighted Indonesia's diversity as a blessing for the nation that all people should preserve.
"Bhinneka Tunggal Ika is a noble heritage of our nation's founders that must be preserved, maintained, and strengthened," he stated while referring to Indonesia's national motto, "Unity in Diversity".
Raka also highlighted the message conveyed by Pope Francis during his September visit that the Indonesian nation shall grow in faith, brotherhood, and affection.
