The security support will be provided before, during, and until the end of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, head of the TNI Information Center, Major General Hariyanto, informed when contacted here on Monday.
He expounded that the 79,247 personnel comprise 56,511 personnel from the army, 19,793 personnel from the navy, and 2,943 personnel from the air force.
Hariyanto further said that the areas prioritized for security will include transportation routes, including ports, airports, train stations, and highways, besides tourist attractions.
He affirmed that TNI personnel involved in security duties will also anticipate the threat of terrorism or other security disturbances.
To this end, the TNI will also continue to coordinate with the police, related ministries, agencies, and regional governments in mapping potential threats during the holidays in various regions of Indonesia.
"Anticipatory measures have been prepared to deal with various possibilities, including extreme weather or natural disasters that often occur at the end of the year," he said.
He also asked the community to participate in maintaining order and prioritizing the spirit of religious tolerance among people.
"If there is something suspicious, please immediately report to the nearest security personnel," he said.
On Monday, President Prabowo Subianto led a limited meeting at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, to discuss preparations for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
While issuing directions, the President emphasized the importance of creating a safe and comfortable atmosphere so that the public can celebrate the holidays with joy.
