Karnavian explained that his ministry and the Ministry of National Development Planning will hold special weekly coordination meetings for regional economic growth to continuously monitor each region's growth.
At the national coordination meeting on regional finances in Jakarta on Wednesday, Karnavian announced that he would visit regions where economic growth is not on an upward trend while simultaneously recognizing and rewarding areas demonstrating positive economic momentum.
The minister urged regional heads to change their mindsets to boost regional income and create more efficient spending.
He assessed that the region's economy will rise if budget policies are directed toward community activities.
Furthermore, he noted that if each regional government strives to improve its finances, its economic growth will increase, thereby better positioning it to handle inflation.
Karnavian underscored that regional economic growth is a component that contributes to economic growth at the national level.
The minister then emphasized that President Prabowo Subianto's target of achieving eight percent economic growth is highly achievable if all regional governments work towards increasing economic growth in their respective regions.
He also underscored that regional revenue can increase if the private sector in the region is operating well. In this regard, he urged regional governments to streamline business permits for the private sector.
"Facilitate the licensing process and provide them with lands and other facilities," he told regional governments at the meeting.
