"We will begin with five investors in five different sectors. Based on our calculations, the value of the investment projects almost hits Rp6.5 trillion," deputy for Funding and Investment of the IKN Authority, Agung Wicaksono, said at his office in IKN on Friday.
He noted that the five investors, comprising domestic and foreign business actors, have placed capital in the sectors of housing, education, hotel, office, and retail in Indonesia's future seat of government.
Wicaksono shared details on the capital inflow, noting that it encompasses Rp1 trillion for a five-star hotel, Rp3.9 trillion for housing, around Rp150 billion for a university, Rp1.4 trillion for offices, and about Rp20 billion for culinary retails.
The official also mentioned that the specific date for the groundbreaking events is awaiting a decision from the president's office.
Earlier in Yogyakarta on Thursday (December 19), OIKN Head Basuki Hadimuljono highlighted that the value of investments flowing into Nusantara from the private sector had reached Rp58 trillion (US$3.5 billion), excluding the planned ninth phase of groundbreakings.
He also stated that the development of the city's airport is expected to conclude by the end of January next year.
"In February, we will send a letter to the minister of transportation to propose commencing the full operations of the airport," he said.
Hadimuljono added that the government is currently focused on developing the buildings of legislative and judiciary institutions in Nusantara.
He also confirmed that President Prabowo plans to relocate his office to the city starting August 17, 2028.
