Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka emphasized the importance of involving the younger generation in national development, describing it as key to realizing the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.

He expressed this during the youth Christmas celebration held at the Indonesian Christian Church (GKI) Wahid Hasyim in Jakarta on Sunday.

"By doing so, Indonesia will be filled with productive young people, creating an opportunity to realize the vision of Golden Indonesia and become a developed country," he said, according to a statement from his office.

In a dialogue with the youth congregation, Gibran conveyed President Prabowo Subianto's commitment to involving the younger generation in national development.

He noted that young people are also included in the cabinet, recognizing their potential, creativity, and innovation.

Gibran highlighted that Indonesia's future depends heavily on the productive younger generation, given their significant role in advancing and prospering the country.

He stressed that youth involvement in national progress requires real government support through concrete policies.

Under Prabowo's administration, such policies include the Free Nutritious Meals program, stunting reduction efforts, and comprehensive poverty eradication programs, Gibran said.

He added that the education budget for 2025—the highest in Indonesia's history—will be allocated to improving school facilities and infrastructure.

"For the first time in history, we will have the highest education budget next year. We plan to renovate schools, upgrade facilities like laboratories, and more," Gibran stated.

He reiterated that the younger generation is the driving force behind national development and essential to achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
