"Our President (Prabowo Subianto) gives many opportunities for young people to be creative and show their talents," he said at the opening ceremony of the Muhammadiyah Youth Tanwir National Meeting here on Thursday.
The Muhammadiyah Youth Tanwir National Meeting is being held from November 21–23, 2024, with the theme "Collaboration of Young Statesmen for Advanced Indonesia."
Speaking in front of hundreds of young Muhammadiyah cadres, VP Gibran said that President Prabowo is looking to involve young people, especially through his Red and White Cabinet.
"I count that there are around 10 young people of my age in the Red and White Cabinet, and most of them came from Muhammadiyah," he said.
He added that Indonesia has a significantly large demographic bonus, which must be utilized well by making it a strength.
For this reason, he asked the young generation to work hard to achieve the vision of Golden Indonesia, or the goal of making Indonesia an advanced country by 2045.
According to Gibran, the demographic bonus, which may only happen once, needs to be utilized well and taken advantage of by young people, including the Muhammadiyah organization's young cadres in Indonesia and abroad.
He noted that it will take hard work and discipline to do this and achieve the Golden Indonesia goal.
He then invited the younger generation to support the vision and mission of President Prabowo's administration, which is emphasizing sustainable development and youth empowerment, among other things.
