Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's National Police Commission (Kompolnas) has identified two clusters of police officers currently under investigation in a case of allegedly extorting visitors at the "Djakarta Warehouse Project" (DWP) event.

"We found two clusters consisting of the initiator and the operator," Kompolnas Commissioner Member Muhammad Choirul Anam remarked on Friday.

According to Anam, two levels of police involvement emerged: higher-ranking officers who issued the directives and subordinates who executed the extortion of the DWP event attendees.

"These two clusters are related to the consequences they will face in the code of ethics hearing that will take place next week," Anam added.

He elaborated that those involved in the extortion case would be transferred to another unit as part of the efforts to maximize the investigation process.

"The investigation aims to clarify the incident. With such a transfer of duties, it will not interfere with the functions and duties of the Police," Anam explained.

Earlier, Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto conducted a rotation in his structure allegedly related to a case of extortion carried out by Police officers against visitors to the DWP event at JI Expo Kemayoran on December 13-15, 2024.

The rotation is stated in the Metro Jaya Police Chief Decree Number: ST/429/XII/KEP.2024 dated December 25, 2024, signed by Head of the Human Resources Bureau, Senior Commissioner Muh. Dwita Kumu Wardana.
