Penajam Paser Utara, E. Kalima (ANTARA) - The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) is targeting to complete the construction of offices and the residential ecosystem for executive, judicial, and legislative institutions in the new capital Nusantara (IKN) by 2028.

"The important achievements (milestones) in the development of Nusantara are in 2025 and 2028,” OIKN chief Basuki Hadimuljono said here on Tuesday.

In 2025, the OIKN is targeting to complete housing, offices, and other supporting facilities such as water and electricity to cater to civil servants who will be shifted to Nusantara.

Hadimuljono said that to accelerate the development of Nusantara as a new center of government, strategic steps need to be taken, especially in planning infrastructure development and increasing investment.

While efforts to expedite Nusantara's development continue, OIKN is preparing to inaugurate a number of executive institution infrastructures that have been completed, he added.

The government is also preparing to launch four to five new infrastructure construction projects, including schools, restaurants, and offices.

"We will immediately report to the President (Prabowo Subianto) regarding the progress and development plans of Nusantara, as well as for the inauguration of some new projects," he informed.

He said that the offices and residences for executive institutions, including for the President and Vice President, ministers and ministerial-level officials, as well as heads of government institutions are being built and are planned to be completed this month.

Meanwhile, the construction of offices and residences for judicial institutions, such as the Supreme Court and Constitutional Court, as well as legislative institutions, such as the House of Representatives (DPR), the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD), will begin in 2025 and is targeted to be complete in 2027.

Hadimuljono further said that the buildings of the four coordinating ministries, Bank Indonesia, and the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry are almost complete and are being furnished.
