"This program is included in President Prabowo Subianto's Quick Best Results Program (PHTC) in 2025," spokesperson of the Presidential Communications Office, Dedek Prayudi, noted in a statement on Friday.
At the toddler age, Prayudi highlighted that health assessments will focus on identifying congenital disorders, such as congenital hypothyroidism.
He explained that early detection of this condition allows for timely treatment, which can help prevent the risk of mental retardation in children.
Prayudi noted that health screening for adolescents will include obesity, diabetes, and dental checks. This screening focuses on health problems that often begin to develop in childhood and adolescence.
According to the spokesperson, the WHO and UNICEF have emphasized the crucial role of health screening in children, which can detect early health conditions that affect their development and well-being.
"Health screening helps early detection of health problems, such as malnutrition, anemia, hearing loss, and vision impairment," he remarked.
He affirmed that identifying health issues early enables quicker and more effective interventions, paving the way for the Indonesian Golden Generation in 2045.
Prayudi explained that screening can prevent diseases from developing into serious conditions, including through timely immunizations, to prevent potentially fatal infectious diseases.
Meanwhile, the screening program for adults focuses on cancer screening, such as breast, cervical, lung, and colon cancer.
Screening for the elderly focuses on cardiovascular diseases, but it is also conducted to detect diseases caused by the aging process.
"The public can come to the nearest health center or health facility and show their identity card to access the free health check," he remarked.
"The value is big if paid with their own money. The public can maintain a healthy lifestyle to stay productive and more prosperous for the future of their family and nation," he stated.
