Head of the Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center of the BNPB Abdul Muhari stated in a press conference streamed on BNPB's YouTube channel on Tuesday that the houses were spread across North Sulawesi, West Sumatra, and East Nusa Tenggara.
Based on BNPB's report, construction has been completed for 2,066 permanent housing units in Bolaang Mongondow District, North Sulawesi, for 315 families who survived the eruption of Mount Ruang in the Sitaro Islands, North Sulawesi.
Those families, who are residents of the Sitaro Islands, had to be relocated to a new place over safety concerns as the volcanic activity of Mount Ruang severely damaged their houses.
In West Sumatra, the government constructed 258 housing units in Agam District and 122 housing units in Tanah Datar District.

Previously, flash floods combined with cold lava from Mount Merapi in May 2024 caused significant damage to the houses of hundreds of families.
Muhari affirmed that his agency, in collaboration with the Indonesian Army (TNI AD), has also built 27 semi-detached temporary houses for 135 families affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara.
"We hope residents affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki who are currently staying at evacuation centers can relocate to these temporary housings," he remarked.
The BNPB, along with related ministries, agencies, and the East Flores Government, strive incessantly to ensure that permanent housing for around five thousand to six thousand victims of the Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki eruption can be constructed this year.
