Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto received heartfelt messages from elementary school pupils in Depok City, West Java, thanking him for the Free Nutritious Meals program.

According to a statement received from Prabowo's media team in Jakarta on Monday, Regita, a third-grade student from Cilangkap 8 Public Elementary School of Depok, extended her and her classmates' gratitude to the president on a piece of paper.

"A message to Mr. Prabowo: Thank you, Mr. Prabowo, for the food. Because of it, I can save my money. I and all my classmates would like to thank you very much," Regita stated in her letter.

In addition to the appreciative words, Regita drew a figure resembling the head of state adorned in a suit and tie, complete with a peci, along with a drawing of his cat Bobby in her letter.

The pupils expressed their gratitude and love toward President Prabowo through letters they left in the stainless steel food trays on which their free nutritious meals were served.

On January 6, the government officially launched the Free Nutritious Meals program in 26 provinces across Indonesia, operating at least 190 special kitchens, officially called the nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPG).

Managed by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), each SPPG is tasked with preparing and distributing free meals to schoolchildren, toddlers, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.
