Jakarta (ANTARA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), Puan Maharani, stated that the people consistently harbor new hopes with each change of government, especially in the first year of President Prabowo Subianto's administration.

"Similarly, the public's expectations for the new term of the DPR are high. The people trust us with their sovereignty, and we must work to improve their lives," Maharani stated during her speech at the DPR Plenary Meeting at the parliament complex here on Tuesday.

Maharani highlighted that the new government will introduce various new initiatives while also strengthening the sustainability of programs from previous governments.

According to the House speaker, every government will strive to do its best to develop Indonesia across all sectors.

Maharani emphasized the need for substantial effort and collaboration among all elements of the nation and its people to build a strong Indonesia.

Hence, she affirmed that the DPR, through its constitutional role, will collaborate with the government to ensure the effective execution of various government initiatives aimed at building Indonesia.

The House speaker emphasized that development efforts must align with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution and adhere to existing laws and regulations.

Moreover, Maharani insisted that the government should manage the state budget in an efficient, transparent, and accountable manner while also ensuring policies that are implemented are fair and appropriate.

In addition, Maharani reminded the government that development programs should prioritize the people's needs, as they should benefit the most from all development policies and programs.

"This way, we can ensure that no one is left behind or neglected in the national development process," she added.
