Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto invited Indian educational institutions to expand their services to Indonesia as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of education.

He made the remarks while delivering a joint press statement with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Saturday.

"In the education sector, we appreciate your assistance in increasing the number of our students studying in India; We also invite Indian educational institutions to set up branches in Indonesia," Prabowo said.

The President noted that through the bilateral meeting, Indonesia and India strengthened cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, tourism, health, energy, security, digital technology, artificial intelligence, information technology, and energy.

Prabowo said that the discussions with Indian industry leaders were fruitful and resulted in more detailed conversations about India's growing contribution to the Indonesian economy.

Meanwhile, in the economic sector, the President instructed his team to accelerate and simplify bureaucratic processes and reduce excessive regulations to support the bilateral interests of both countries.

"I have directed my team, and I will continue to do so, that we need to enhance and expand our economic partnership with India," Prabowo stated.

He also expressed gratitude for the warm welcome extended to him during his visit to India.

He said he hoped that his visit would mark a new beginning in accelerating cooperation programs and strengthening the friendship between Indonesia and India.

President Prabowo held a bilateral meeting with PM Modi at Hyderabad House on Saturday as part of his state visit to India from January 23 to 26, 2025.
